Steam Trade URL

A Steam Trade URL is a personal link Steam generates so other users or services can send you trade offers without being friends. It does not grant account access, but anyone who has the link can send offers, so review every offer and reset the token if the link reaches an unintended audience.

What it looks like

partner: your Steam account ID (public)
token: a random string Steam generates; can be reset anytime

Without the token parameter the link only works for people already on your friends list.

How to find it in the Steam client

1. Open Steam → click your name (top-right) → Inventory 2. Click Trade Offers (right sidebar) 3. Click Who can send me Trade Offers? 4. Copy the Trade URL field at the bottom of the page

How to find it in the Steam mobile app

1. Open the Steam app and sign in 2. Go to your profile area and open Inventory 3. Select Trade Offers → Who can send me Trade Offers? 4. Copy the link from the field at the bottom of the screen

If that screen does not open, update the app. Older builds have no trade privacy screen, so you have to read the link in a browser instead.

Inventory privacy settings

Your inventory must be public before anyone can build an offer for you. Open Profile → Edit Profile → Privacy Settings and set Inventory to Public. With a hidden inventory the link stays valid, but the sender cannot see your items and cannot assemble the trade.

What sharing the link does and does not do

The Trade URL does not grant account access or move an item by itself. It lets anyone who has the link send you offers, including misleading ones. Check the items and amounts inside Steam before confirming, never enter credentials after following an untrusted link, and reset the token if it was posted somewhere you did not intend.

How to reset the token

The same trade privacy page has a button that generates a new link. After a reset the old link stops working, which is useful if you posted it on a forum or in a listing.
