Tradable
Definition
A tradable Steam item can be sent to another account via a trade offer. New items, items received in a trade, and items purchased from the Market each carry a different trade-lock duration before they become freely tradable.
Trade locks vary by source and game
- Newly acquired item → may have a cooldown set by the game and acquisition method.
- Purchased from Community Market → commonly shows a 7-day trade restriction.
- Received in a trade → may receive another restriction under the game's current rules; do not assume it can be traded or relisted immediately.
- Promotional / gift → may be non-tradable indefinitely.
How to check
Steam's current inventory status is authoritative. Click the item and look for a red “Tradable after …” date or a non-tradable label. SteamVaults checks the status and amount of each supported Sack of Gems before quoting.
